Every patient is a new lesson

When I asked Katarzyna Jeleń for a meeting, I have imagined her as experienced nurse in middle age. (Effectiveness of her original honey massage was like a legend for my friends). So I was surprised when limp, effective girl in trendy “mini” came. When she gave me her small hand to shake, I couldn`t refrain from question, how can she do a massage with such a small hands?
I only seem to be weakling – Ms Kasia smiles. – In fact I`m very strong, you can convince yourself.
I know about extraordinary honey properties, I used to use honey masks… But how an idea of honey massage developed?
Honey massage is only one of many unconventional methods of human treatment. Learning them is really exciting. But without solid medical knowledge, I wouldn`t be able to use any of them.
Exactly, so please tell me, how you became a nurse?
I was a realist, I hadn`t any special abilities like painting. And my older sister was a nurse, and was very satisfied. At the same tame, since I remember, I was interested with human body – biology and anatomy, so I went to a medical high school. I never regretted this decision, but I knew that it was just first step. When I was in fifth grade, something important happened. I was a witness of accident and I had to provide first aid to a dying man, who was lying on the street. I understood, than human is not only the body; I was close to the death i saw the other – spiritual part of life. I shared my thoughts with my psychological trainer in my school. She advised me few books, including “Tanatos” and “Knowing the patient”. I started do wonder about humans feelings and emotions. By incident friend from nurse hotel, who was interested in parapsychology told me, that I`ve got bioenergetical abilities. I didn`t belive her, but after a while I connected some facts and as a result went to “Natural therapies” department in Ecological Studies, instead of psychology.
And that is how tour adventure with biotherapy began?
During studies I was a bit lonely, because others decided on parapsychology earlier, I didn`t. But I had intuition, which advised me proper solutions. In Wroclaw`s Chamber of Crafts I received certificate of biotherapist with specialization in masseuse. I started performing biotherapeutic massage. When I meet energy block in patients body I know, that I need to start form remove mental blockade. Holistic medicine, which recognizing dualism of body and spirit, says to do so. I know, that every body sickness starts in spiritual area: in emotions and mind. If you want to heal the body, you need to heal soul at the same time. You need to listen and try to understand patient. Its good, that in nursing schools psychology course is in program. In that time I was already working. I was a dentists assistant and thinking about getting MA title. There was a school in Warsaw: Energoinformation Academy. I started writing about biotherapy understood as bioenergy (exchange of energy between the therapist and patient). Unfortunately, I couldn`t finish this work. Perhaps some day I will return to those plans.
Maybe we should go back to your experience in nursing.
Exactly. Especially because dental nurse is not nurse we know from common meaning. However, this time of 3,5 year in dental was a time of priceless experiences. People are so afraid of dentists. I could sens energy of fear in the surgery and tried to clear it.
It worked out?
Yes. I even became a rule, that during unpleasant procedures (such as laser or scaling) in my presence patients easily felt asleep. I was very happy, because that meant, that my energy works soothing. In the end, however, those monotonous work wasn`t developing for me, so I decided to change my job. I found work at Waleology Knowledge Institute in Wroclaw. I work at reception desk.
At reception desk?
I know, why you are surprised, but it isn`t ordinary reception, because whole institution is extraordinary. It is holistic institute. My role is to be a “filter”, “pilot”, but patients not always are aware of this. The fact is, that in first place they meet me, I talk to them, listen and watch. As a result I can precise feelings and problems, correct expectations (which are often too high) i prepare to a visit with therapist, so they can have as many profits as possible. I think, that every biotherapist should have similar system – it helps to understand yourself and others, so it is developing. This work, consists of processing human fears, suffering into positive energy, gives me a lot of satisfaction.
And how can you find time for your wonderful honey massages?
I`m not making massage all the time, but in some periods and of course if it is needed. During my vacation, in my family city – I work without a break and still learn. Now, for example, under the supervision of great therapist prof. Walentyna Sazontiewa I`m learning the phantom surgery, so I could “hear” and even “see” patients body from inside during the massage. Sometimes patient says, that he has got problems with spine, and I treat kidneys. My experiments with honey massages began because of prof. Sazontiewa suggestion. Honey massage not only (like classical one) removes blockades and restores mobility. It has also anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, nourishes the skin and connective tissue, delivering so important micro-elements and vitamins (A, B, C and PP). There are different kinds of honey, so its action can be different. Multi-flowers honey is especially helpful in allergies, buckwheat – helps in circulatory system problems and assist bones healing, honeydew is recommended in respiratory system diseases, and acacia works best for digestive ailments. Patients skin during procedure is literally drinking this wonderful medicine, and what is left – is washed out with delicate oil. Since centuries elegant woman used honey masks and nurtured hands with honey. Why shouldn`t we also use its benevolent properties?
Those massages have got great recognition. Does any one except you perform them?
I don`t know. But every nurse who know classical massage can learn it.
But yours has got double action. It`s also a biomassage…
Everyone is a biotherapist. You just need to reveal and develop those talents. Of course one will be a virtuoso, and the other just a craftsman, but both are needed. So I encourage nurses to acquire additional qualifications. It gives a lot of satisfaction, but the finances will also improve of course.
Haven`t you think about your own biotherapy cabinet?
Not for now. but I believe that many of my colleagues can do it successfully. But beware – to have a successful career in private cabinet, you need to master and combine techniques and be very good in it. Knowledge and honesty is very important in nurse and biotherapist profession. Not always 10 or 20 massages are needed to help the patient. Often three is enough and I accept this. Besides, every patient is a new lesson for me. Lesson which I want to think over, deeply analyze and draw conclusions.
